I've recently dealt with a case of hacking, one of our users had his PC infected with a Trojan Horse virus so the attacker, known as Davy on MSN, could gain access to his PC.

This user of ours had downloaded a "hack" that Davy sent him via Email, and by doing so he lost his accounts, thinking he can cheat he got hacked...

So what can you do to make sure you don't fall victim to such attacks:

- always have a good Antivirus with active shield on your PC (like McAfee, AVG, Avira, etc.)

- keep your antivirus updated.

- scan your PC every few days with your antivirus.

- never accept any files on MSN from anyone.

- never download any mail attachments from persons you don't know.

- you may be tempted by people sending you files claiming it will help you cheat your way, making your character more powerful or succeeding in CM more... those are all lies to get your PC infected, so don't be so naive to believe them.

- NEVER ever EVER share your account info, those that do that are very good victims of being hacked and getting their accounts stolen.

- don't have an universal password (meaning don't have same password everywhere: MSN, MU, Forum, etc... always use different passwords in different places)

- there are no things such as a free account, so if someone is offering you their account out of nowhere, free and tells you that you can do anything with it and the items in it, it's probably not his account to start with and by doing so will get you into trouble.

- like I've said above, watch out for this guy on MSN, Davy (misterdecock91@hotmail.com) , he's scamming allot of people that are dumb enough to trust him and his bullshit lies. He's been banned from Twilight but he can still get you on MSN if you are not careful. Those who have him on MSN should block him immediately.

Bottom line is that we may or may not be able to help you out once you've been hacked, so its your responsibility to keep your accounts and your PC safe.

You can find a good example of this kind of scam in this thread:

Also needless to say, but obviously HAS to be said to some people:
DO NOT download anything from Twilight MU Forum from posts which are not posted by a STAFF member, you can get your PC infected with viruses. Download at your own risk.
