Video Card help.
Hello, I got a EN9800GT ASUS Video Card and a 500W Antec Power Supple Model BP500U And I am having problems with the computer shutting down while im playing a video game and I called Antec they told me to check if the AMPs are compatible with the video card because the Walts are compatible only requires 400W but he told me the AMPs might be to low could someone help me. just pm me if u need anymore info or post here.

Seems to me like even though it only require's 400w its still not getting enough power, are you running an offboard sound card, what is the Ghz of the computer and how much ram are you using?

make sure the power connector is connected to the video card. Amps have nothing to do with it you are using enough. 500 watts power supply is good enough. Also you have a nvidia geforce 9800gt manufactored by asus. I ran 2 of those on a 500 watt power supply with no problems.

its all connected right the fan on the video card works and is connected shows on my device manager. Just making sure my power supple can handle it and like u said u ran 2 just fine so then my power supple was defective im sending it back to Antec and there going to fix / give me a new one for free. Thanks for you help frank.

I once had a computer that kept crashing just like that, and it turned out to be the cpu cooler that was busted...

Nope dont know how to, but I was concerned about the compatible thing for my video card because my fan went out in my antec power supple and they asked if it was being over powerd he told me the video card might be too much but frank said that he ran 2 on a 500w so I think just the power supple i got was defective they will replace it for free.
