I got lucky in watching the movie first and that's the reason I don't hate on it. I kind of loved it. I think it's the only way for someone to like this movie. Yes, it should have been more than 90 minutes, I would go for 3 hours at least. There have been utter crappy movies that lasted longer.

Anime, definitely the best thing I've watched so far in my life. The maturity and the plot in it, it's just out of this world and it can simply touch one's mind, heart or whatever.

Avatar IS NOT!!!! anime, anime is japanese, Avatar is an american cartoon. Sorry Wael but i was very disapointed with movie, was rushed in my opinion. Something like the Avatar which has seasons, earth,wind, fire and water, would need to be made into a trilogy like Lord of the rings ect

It is planned for a trilogy. I think they already have the scripts for the other 2 movies. But I agree, it was pretty rushed and lacked a lot of MUST-INCLUDE elements from the series. It should be at least 3 hours long because it's simply impossible to pack 20 episodes in just an hour and a half length movie.

The only reason I'm not disappointed with the movie (and probably the only method one can follow in order not to hate it) is because I watched the movie before the series.

Also, it's not considered an anime since anime is produced in Japan but it seems that they've tried to blend the anime and cartoon elements into a fine line. Which is why you'll see A:TLA noted in most of anime websites.

The Avatar is based on chinese lore, not Japanese. When you finish the series Wael you will look at t he movie differntly. Especially the last eps it kicked ass and made the 4 years watching it worth it.

I've watched it in 3-4 days and I'm actually thinking of watching all over again. It's the best animation-related series I ever got to watch and I'm pretty much obsessed with it. Still, I do like the movie, NOT amazed but I can watch that again too. Waiting on the 2nd movie and the next Avatar, Korra.
