If you wanna transfer money you could just find some high lvl player you can trust and ask him if he can hold the money for a wile.
For example, I'd trust anyone in the Alliance guild enough to ask them to hold a complete maxed exc leg set+rate+L bacause I wanna transfer it.
Of course, if you are in a guild yourself you could probably ask members of your guild to help ya. You should be able to trust them, and if you don't I'd suggest you find another guild. :P

the idea itself is good, and its even possible to my knowledge, but, the only problem is, it will be complicated to make it happen...
a script should be made where it reads your vault and how many spare space u got in it, then reading the spare space there is in the other vault...
then it needs to modfiy the data in your vault to remove that item and then modify the data on the vault u transfered the item to...
all in all it only involves editing one or two SQL tables and even the query's are rather easy but it would still take time...
wait for Shag's reply...he'll give u a definite answer...

I think this would be better if it was more generalized(it would be more complicated though). Here's my idea:
Instead of simply transfering, include some sort of trade system to trade(or give) another person. To ensure privacy of a person's belonging's, a unique code could be made to link an item(or items) which the person is buying/selling. This code could be given to the buyer/seller where the buyer can offer for it.
Examples:
Giving items:
Person A wants to give an item to Person B. A unique code does not need to be made for this, Person A simply needs to put Person B as his sender.
Trading items:
Once a deal has been made (through forums, etc), a seller can generate a unique code(123) for the item(s) and inform the buyer of the code. The buyer would make a unique code(456) for his offer as well and enter the seller's given code(123) for a trade. The seller will recieve a notice which informs him/her of the trade with the list of items the buyer as offered. The seller will be able to accept or decline the offer. Once the offer is accepted, the system will check if the buyer and seller is both offline, and if they have enough storage space(and then the trade will take place). If someone is online, the system will wait for another time to do this trade (tries every 5-10 mins or something).
This would take lots of time and dedication to do though >.>. This could be a base for creating an auction as well(for the future). Just felt like blurting out my thoughts

trading zen script = easy maybe it will be done, still alot of headache for the players since sender should be offline when using the script and receiver should have his vault closed at that time or be offline.
trading items script = like ghost said its alot of data mixing and splitting in the database to move items around, its not as easy as with numbers like zen.
what makobex said is interesting but also very hard to make
